Silence itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server operated by us — the app has nowhere to send your data even if it wanted to. Everything the app remembers (your favorites, language, and reminder time) stays on your device.
The one exception is advertising: on iOS, the app shows ads through Google AdMob, a third-party service. Google’s advertising SDK independently collects some device and advertising data to deliver and measure those ads, under Google’s own privacy policy, not ours. That’s explained fully below.
We do not collect, and the app does not ask you for:
To make the app work, a small amount of data is saved locally on your device using standard app storage. This data never leaves your device, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app:
If you turn on the optional bedtime reminder, the app schedules a notification directly on your device using iOS’s built-in notification system. No push token is created, and no data about your reminder is sent to any server — the notification is generated and delivered entirely on-device.
On iOS, Silence displays ads supplied by Google AdMob (using the react-native-google-mobile-ads library) to support the app being free. Ads currently appear only on the browsing screens (Sounds and Favorites tabs) — never on the player/playback screen.
Google, as an independent third party, may collect information such as:
This information is collected and processed by Google for ad delivery, ad measurement, frequency capping, and fraud prevention, under Google’s own policies:
We do not receive, store, or have access to this data ourselves — it is collected and controlled by Google, not by us.
This app does not currently request the App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS. As a result, per Google’s documented behavior, the advertising SDK does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) and serves non-personalized, contextual ads rather than ads personalized to your activity across other apps or websites.
Android builds of the app do not currently show ads.
Silence is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. While one of the app’s sound categories (“Lullabies & Baby Sleep”) is designed to be played for a baby by a parent or caregiver, the app itself is intended to be operated by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
Because Silence has no backend server and transmits no personal data of its own, there is no server-side data of yours for us to secure, lose, or have breached. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device’s own operating system security.
If you use the app outside the United States, be aware that Google’s advertising infrastructure (described above) may process data in other countries. We ourselves do not transfer any data internationally, because we do not collect or hold any.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the app’s use of advertising or notifications changes. Any changes will be posted at this same URL with a revised effective date at the top.
